Bui National Park

Bui National Park (in the Bole district, about 100 km west of Larabanga) surrounds the stunning Bui Gorge on the Black Volta River as it leaves the Northern Region. The park has beautiful views, riverine forest and contrasting savanna landscapes. Bui is most famous for its growing hippopotamus population, which is the largest in Ghana, and offers guided hippo observation canoe trips.

Bui is difficult to get to, has footpaths only, and has very basic accommodation. Best approach is from Wenchi (83 km. away), or through Banda Nkwanta (20 km. from the boundary).
