Adaklu Mountain

The Adaklu Mountain is quite possibly the most impressive mountain in Ghana. Located just 12 kilometres from the Volta regional capital of Ho, the mountain is circled by nine villages. A hike to the mountain top and back takes about five hours and one can visit hidden bat caves, watch interesting species of birds, butterflies and monkeys. There are spectacular views from the pinnacle.

Just three kilometres from the base of the mountain is the Kalakpa Resource Reserve where one can view kob antelope, buffalo, bushbuck, baboons and many other species of birds and mammals.

The villages around the mountain are predominantly farming communities but they are also famous for their wild honey and local alcohol production.
