Laribanga
Laribanga is home to the historic 500-year old mosque built on the Djenne architectural style. The mosque also hosts the oldest copy of the Koran in Ghana. A strict Muslim community, Laribanga is also the gateway to Mole National Park and thus serves as an alternative centre for tourists wishing to visit the park.
At Laribanga you can visit the Mystic Stone to seek supernatural intervention, go on a tour of the flat-roofed mud compound houses of the village, watch shea butter being processed or go on a local farm tour.
Laribanga is only five kilometres from Mole National Park headquarters and it is possible to rent bicycles and binoculars from the Laribanga Tourism Office to visit the park.
