Owabi Wildlife Sanctuary

Owabi Wildlife Sanctuary is a peaceful piece of forest surrounding one of the water reservoirs which provide drinking water to the city of Kumasi. An internationally recognised RAMSAR site for migratory birds, the sanctuary is also home to several groups of Mona monkeys, a variety of duiker species and other small mammals.

At Owabi you can go on guided nature walks in the forest, watch birds and monkeys or explore the bamboo forest. Owabi is only 16 kilometres from Kumasi off the main Kumasi to Sunyani Road and makes a great day trip. Owabi is close to Lake Bosumtwi and Bobiri Butterfly Sanctuary.
